Okay, why does this page say that you can copy protected DVDs but then the FAQ page says that if it doesn't scan properly it's because HandBrake is not a ripper and CAN'T remove copy protection. That's a contradiction, so which one is it???

The new movie was great for capturing the "feel" of one of the more adventurous TOS episodes. They messed up Kirk, Spock, and Uhura but everyone else was perfect. They also changed the Phasers into something LESS science-y, while the Photon Torpedoes lost their punch in favor of shooting lots of them. (I hated that) Warp Drive isn't their primary propulsion anymore (I hated that too...) But the film was FAR better than Star Trek: Nemesis.

Final Analysis: Off-beat, pleasently and unpleasently, but nonetheless, a STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

Thanks for the review, very informative. I have a zi8 on order from
Amazon. Can't wait to try it. I hope it will pick up good enough in low light for my use as recording dancing instructions. All I need is to be able to see the steps, a bit of graininess is OK, as long as I can see the instructor.

Your review answered many questions I had. I also ordered the remote which you did not mention at all - perhaps its something new form Kodak. I plan to use the tripod and remote to operate the camera for short clips. I hope it works from 15-20 feet distance.

Ron
